| Annotation | The author outlines a scheme under the auspices of Coventry Health Authority, Coventry Social Services Department (SSD), and the ExtraCare Charitable Trust, which enables older people to leave hospital earlier. The scheme involved up to 10 patients at a time discharged from Walsgrave Hospital, and Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital to the Abbey Park Interim Care Facility, where their independence could be maximised.
