AnnotationThe district of Angus in Tayside is largely rural with several small towns. Tayside Health Board is the main commissioner of services from the Angus NHS Trust, which provides services for adult mental health problems except for psychotherapy services. This review examines the planning, commissioning, management and organisation of services in Angus, clinical services, quality of life for patients, and the work of voluntary agencies. The report concludes that Angus NHS Trust provides very good care for those with mental health problems, despite very inadequate accommodation, and there remains a need for investment to improve the quality of the environment for patients.
