AnnotationPresents findings from a survey of the number of vehicle badges issued by local authorities to people with disabilities. This information was previously published by the Department of Health (DoH) in 'Meals served and vehicle badges for the disabled ... England' until 1993; and in 1994 as `Vehicle badges for people who are disabled or blind: the Orange Badge Scheme'. This scheme will be known as the "Blue Badge Scheme" from 1st April 2000, although the 2000 set of figures refers solely to orange badges. The change of colour to the badge was introduced to comply with the European-wide standard. Therefore the 2000 particular set of figures is the last of the scheme referring solely to orange badges.
