AnnotationAge Concern expresses concerns about whether the proposals in the consultation document (`The future of home improvement agencies', Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions - DETR) will in the long run enable home improvement agencies to continue to play the role the Government envisages in local housing, community care and health strategies. ACE believes that without strong and enforced legislation or guidance from central government, there is a real likelihood that the proposed funding arrangements will lead to a reduction rather than an expansion in the availability of home improvement agencies. ACE asks that the Government reconsiders the proposals, to prevent an undesired outcome. (RH).
