Annotation | The ageing of the population does not explain increasing demand on the NHS (National Health Service). Nor can rising expenditure be justified solely by technological advances. If people are living longer, they are also staying healthier for longer. The burden they place on health services still only occurs in the last three years of life. (RH). |
