Annotation | This charity is a national award scheme for all older people of 55 and over. It helps them discover hidden talents and achieve personal fulfilment in new activities, guided by volunteer advisers. Activities must be taken up for at least 12 months and the scheme is open to both able-bodied and those with disabilities. Certificates are presented when targets are reached. Founded in 1987, the charity works mainly through older people's agencies. At the time of this report, over 5000 people had enrolled and with volunteer advisers, the number of participants was 10,000. Two newsletters dated Winter 1996 and May 1998 respectively, are filed within this report. (KJ). |
