Annotation | Some innovative ideas in services for older people with dementia are examined. Park Road is a nursing home for older people with mental health problems run by New Islington and Hackney Housing Association. Work centred on its snoezelen room is described. Some social housing landlords have built new kinds of facilities, based on current understanding of dementia and how it affects people. A good example is Moorside, a new home for older people with mental health problems in Winchester, owned and run by St John's Winchester Charity, which is also partly intended to meet community needs.
