Annotation | The Australian system of age-care services has undergone significant reform and improvement since the late 1980s. However, the introduction of a nursing home entry fee of around $26,000 has been a cause of much anxiety. The controversy generated by this policy is a symbol of the underlying paradigm shift in health and welfare funding occurring in Australia. (RH). |
