Annotation | A working knowledge of disorders of both hearing and balance is useful in the practice of geriatric medicine, given that some 40% of people in the UK in their 60s - rising to 60% in their 70s - have significant hearing impairment. This article outlines the anatomy and pathophysiology, investigation, and management of hearing impairment. It also explains tinnitus, vertigo,and falls. (RH). |
