AnnotationThe number of older citizens is increasing dramatically, growth that presents societies worldwide with enormous problems and some new possibilities. To coincide with the International Year of the Elderly 1999, BBC World Service Education launched `Aspects of Age', 22 new radio series in 21 languages to be broadcast from October 1998, which will reflect the real lives of the `third age' as we go into the next millennium. A separate insert gives details of the various series. (RH).
