AnnotationAt the 1996 PSIGE conference in Cardiff, a session on memory clinics created much interest and debate. Some members felt that clinical psychologists should have nothing to do with such clinics, whereas others were very much involved in their development. The Memory Clinics Task Force has prepared this document, in which a wide variety of opinions and views are considered. The document covers: reasons for having memory clinics; the protocols for setting up a memory clinic; assessment, intervention and follow-up; and case studies. As a profession, clinical psychologists should be promoting psychological support for clients and their families who live with the effects of neurological impairment. (RH).
