Annotation | Snoezelen offers a kind of "enriched environment" of sensory experience for participants to discover and explore. There is an increasing amount of objective and subjective evidence regarding the value of Snoezelen for people with advanced dementia. It is not yet clear what aspect of the intervention (e.g. attention or sensory input) is causing the effect. The most striking impression for the author is of seeing patients' personalities emerging as the sessions progress. (RH). |
