AnnotationSixty postmenopausal Swedish women with coronary artery disease were randomised into three groups to receive different medication and doses and one was a placebo group. 46 women (77%) completed the study during 1 year. From the results, it was concluded that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) does not seem to have negative effects on symptoms of angina pectoris and seems to increase quality of life in older women with coronary heart disease. It also seems safe from the cardiovascular point of view. (KJ/RH).
