AnnotationIt is hypothesised that older people with cognitive dysfunction will be more vulnerable to the effects of stressors that can be ameliorated or altered (i.e. financial strain). However, it is further specified that older people with cognitive impairment will not be more susceptible to the effects of life events that are difficult to change (i.e. death of family members). Data from the longitudinal Americans' Changing Lives Survey tend to support these hypotheses. (RH).
