Annotation | This paper outlines landmarks in the British Geriatrics Society (BGS), and its aims and objectives since its formation fifty years ago by Marjorie Warren. Although facilities have been established for the investigation and treatment for the medical care of older people, matters such as continuing care are causing concern. Not enough research is being done on age-related disorders, and there is a need to encourage younger researchers to become involved in age research. (RH). |
