AnnotationThe Age Awareness project was set up in 1995 by Methodist Homes for the Aged and the Christian Council on Ageing, facilitated by a grant from the Sir Halley Stewart Trust. The main objective of the project is to increase the understanding of the spiritual needs of older people. This final booklet of ten looks at how the Church can cater for their older members. A list of practical issues which need to be addressed is included, covering access, transport, catering for those with visual and hearing impairments, and those who are housebound. Important components in pastoral care for older people are outlined, and particular pastoral needs of informal carers and those who have been bereaved are addressed. Specific issues related to worship and older people are also discussed. (AKM).
