AnnotationThe Age Awareness project was set up in 1995 by Methodist Homes for the Aged and the Christian Council on Ageing, facilitated by a grant from the Sir Halley Stewart Trust. The main objective of the project is to increase the understanding of the spiritual needs of older people. This third booklet of ten addresses the spiritual needs of single persons in older age. The reasons for some older people remaining single throughout their lives are outlined, and some of the special challenges facing those who become single in older age, through separation or bereavement, are discussed. The authors argue that the Church and religion have much support to offer single older people. (AKM).
