Annotation'Getting the best from social services: learning the lessons from Joint Reviews' was published in July 1998. This handbook expands on the findings conclusions and questions posed in that report. Its aim is to provide managers, staff and councillors with a fuller account of the information brought together by the Joint Reviews. Each chapter summarises the key findings from reviews, highlights good practice, explores some of the pitfalls that impair good performance, and comments on the implications of findings for councils. The general results from the questionnaire to users and carers, and summaries of reviews published up to 1 June 1998 are included as appendices. (RH).
