AnnotationThe review's purpose is to assess the extent to which people in North Yorkshire are well served by social services. It gives a profile of the authority; and considers evidence about how well resources and performance are managed. The report highlights areas where the authority is doing particularly well in comparison with other similar authorities, including the views of carers and users. It concludes that people are well served by their social services, and that they are better informed about services than elsewhere. The review team identified five key issues for taking forward the authority's development agenda: developing locality commissioning; developing information systems; reviewing management arrangements; developing flexibility and choice in service provision; and developing the role of customer relations units.
