AnnotationThe review's purpose is to assess the extent to which people in Cornwall are well served by social services. It gives a profile of the authority, and considers evidence about how well it manages performance and available resources. The Review Team found strong evidence that users rate the services they receive very highly, and that services for older people are delivered with particular efficiency. Key issues are identified for improving overall performance: getting more from preventative strategies; improving planning capability; focusing on influencing other agencies; clarifying its intentions and reporting more on its performance; building on the capability of local staff; and protecting service quality.
