It reports on a 1995 conference organised by the Association of London Authorities (ALA) and the NHS Support Federation, which, with the the ALG, has called for: an end to hospital closures; an extensive programme of investment in London's position as a centre for excellence in health and research; and the urgent improvement of London's ambulance and primary and community health services.
