Annotation | Health policy in recent times has tended to focus on health services, however, there is a need for a broader view and direction of health policy. This report sets out one approach to health policy in the United Kingdom (UK) and the obligations upon government to implement it. The focus is on the concept of `health field' as distinct from the concept of `health care systems', by which the authors mean that health improvement or gain cannot be achieved by health care services alone. Changes in the organisation and delivery of health care services are suggested, including secondary health care, primary care and social care. (AKM). |
