Annotation | The introduction of statutory nursing care insurance in Germany has ensured that virtually the entire country's population is now covered for the cost of nursing care. Prior to the introduction of the legislation, such costs normally had to be met from the patient's own private resources. Patients on low incomes or with insufficient resources of their own had to rely on social welfare to pay their nursing bills.(RH). |
