AnnotationThe Government is making £11.6 million of mental illness supplementary credit approvals (SCAs) available to local authority social service departments (SSDs) in 1998/99 to fund capital developments for mentally ill people. This circular sets out action required by health authorities, GP fundholders and NHS mental health trusts, who are asked to read the parallel guidance Local Authority Circular LAC (98)10 and discuss with local authority social services departments suitable proposals for mental illness SCAs. This guidance replaces Health Service Guidance HSG (97)15 which was issued on 17 March 1997. (AKM).
