AnnotationFalls are common in older people, resulting both in injuries and loss of confidence. The author of this article, who was the winner in the community category of the 1997 Nursing Times Nursing and the Older Person Award, describes a nurse-led health promotion and fall prevention programme called Mind Your Step. Older residents in sheltered housing were invited to participate in the 8-week programme, and the success of the programme will be assessed at 3-month follow-up. (AKM).
