Annotation | Since the late 1980s, it has become increasingly apparent that some sheltered housing is difficult to let. The author reports on a study by Hanover Housing Association highlighting problem areas and how to tackle them. The study interviewed local authority and housing association providers and residents in Yorkshire and Humberside, to identify the magnitude of the difficult-to-let problem in the region. Disparities between the views of providers and residents suggests that residents' needs are not fully understood: provision must focus on the residents. (RH). |
