AnnotationThe Mental Illness Specific Grant (MISG) has been distributed annually since 1991/92 to supplement spending by local authorities on social care for mentally ill people (including those with dementia) living in the community. This circular sets out the arrangements of the 1998/99 MISG, including Target Fund to local authority social service departments, and gives details of each authority's indicative allocation. The parallel guidance for health authorities is Health service circular HSC 1998/008. This circular expires on 1 April 1999. (RH).
