Annotation | This circular draws the attention of local authorities and Guardian ad Litem and Reporting Officer (GALRO) Panel Managers, to guidance concerning the Contracting Out (Functions in relation to the provision of Guardians Ad Litem and Reporting Officers Panels) Order 1997 (Statutory Instrument no 1997/1652) which came into force on 1 July 1997 (copy of Order attached as Annex 1). Attention is also drawn to advice concerning the retention and destruction of case records compiled by guardians, and the handling of other records concerned with the operation of the guardian service, including provisions of the Family Proceedings Rules (Amendment no 2) Rules 1997 which came into force on 21 April 1997 (Annex 2 includes extract from the Rules). Guidance is also provided concerning the Guardians Ad Litem and Reporting Officers (Panels) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 (Statutory Instrument no 1997/1662) which came into force on 29 July 1997. A copy of these Regulations is included; also a consolidation of the 1991 and 1997 Regulations. (RH). |
