AnnotationThe purpose of the review is to provide an objective assessment of how well Hammersmith and Fulham people are being served by their social services. It sets the local context and gives a profile of the authority; and considers evidence about the authority's management of performance and resources. The report highlights areas where it is doing well in comparison with other authorities, and identifies key issues to be tackled. Although the Review Team concludes that many people are well served by social services, key issues for action include: providing a more coherent response to users; understanding needs and maximising resources; improving choice and best value through commissioning strategies for all user groups; and tackling issues of quality, cost and consistency in services.
