AnnotationArt therapy has become one of the few psychotherapeutic services to which people with learning difficulties have access. The contributors to this book discuss the practicalities of providing art therapy in a variety of settings - hospital, community centre, school, therapist's home - and illustrate through case studies their experience of working with people who have different degrees of learning difficulty. They concentrate on exploring the skills and limitations of both client and therapist, and on the key issues of clinical effectiveness and clinical supervision. The book also encourages reflection on the similarities and differences between art therapy and related professions of counselling and other arts therapies. (RH).
