AnnotationOne of the most widely used instruments for the assessment of attitudes towards older people is the Aging Semantic Differential, first developed in 1969. Although widely used, problems concerning the instrument has been found, including familiarity of objects, variety of objects, men only design, and the age of the instrument. This article reviews research using the Aging Semantic Differential and the validity of the instrument itself. Directions for refinement are presented and discussed. (AKM).
