KeywordsEmployment of older people ; Ageism ; Conference proceedings.
AnnotationWithout the prescription of the law, the only defence against age-discriminatory practices in the labour market is to change attitudes supporting such behaviour. A 1995 survey of post-experience management students appeared to show that this new generation of managers have more negative attitudes to older workers and their abilities than those of a group of managers surveyed in 1992. This paper was presented at the Association for Educational Gerontology (AEG) Annual Conference at Keele University in July 1997. (RH).
