AnnotationAlthough P S Fry has stated in the previous article that "it is no longer defensible for counsellors and therapists of the elderly to make generalisations about the aged as if they constituted a homogeneous category", the author of this response to his article comments on his use of stereotypical images of older people. Crose limits discussion to three areas of concern: language, demographics and treatment issues. The reader is also encouraged to refer to more recent books and studies. (RH).
