Annotation | The Audit Commission and King's Fund jointly commissioned the Social Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of York to undertake this literature review. It examines the reasons why rehabilitation is fast becoming an important issue on the policy agenda, explores the nature of rehabilitation, the contexts in which it is provided, and trends in provision and accessibility of services. While there is increasing awareness of the importance of rehabilitation, in practice, opportunities are not being fully realised. Purposeful action is required to develop rehabilitation, organising it in ways which reflect good practice. (RH). |
