AnnotationThis summary of a fuller report of the review aims to give local people a clear and independent view of how well Oxfordshire responds to people who need information and help, plans for its population as a whole, and manages its resources and performance. The Joint Review's findings focus on aspects of service concerning information and help, working arrangements and partnerships with other services, and managing resources. Among the issues outlined for improving services are: checking on the time taken for users to get a response; giving front-line staff the systems to organise services for users flexibly and promptly; planning ahead to meet budget targets; working more closely with local communities and district councils so that services are sensitive to local circumstances; and improving information systems. A summary of Oxfordshire Social Services' Action Plan is also included, which has similar intent. (RH).
