Annotation | The author examines why the care of the dying, and the termination of treatment, have proved to be such difficult issues, despite intensive reform efforts in the US. Euthanasia is discussed, and it is suggested there are other ways of achieving a peaceful death: we need to examine the way we view death and the care of the dying and the critically ill. (RH). |
