Annotation | Older women, particularly in developing countries, are likely to have less experience of paid work outside the home, and tend to be economically dependent on their husband or sons. Consequently, they are unlikely to have a pension. This article describes a pilot revolving credit scheme for older women, set up by Pro Vida Peru in a small part of Lima. The aim is to provide loans to older people, particularly women, who cannot get loans from other sources for them to start up their own businesses. (RH). |
