Managing diabetes in residential and nursing homes presents a complex set of problems with no one solution | Author(s) | Robert Tattersall, Simon Page |
Journal title | British Medical Journal, vol 316, 10 January 1998 |
Pages | p 89 |
Keywords | Diabetes ; Medical care ; Nursing homes ; Care homes. |
Annotation | The authors suggest that the diabetes service is failing in its responsibilities for caring for diabetics in residential and nursing homes - the very patients also likely to present more complex care problems. Nursing home and residential care staff should be able to contact the diabetes team for advice, and to have assistance from a district nurse who can monitor diabetic control. (RH). |
