AnnotationNursing Times and Age Concern England (ACE) joined forces to organise a Parliamentary Lobby on 11 March 1997 on the subject of health care rights for older people. The two organisations are working together, because of their strength of feeling that older people are not getting the healthcare they deserve. ACE has campaigned for some time on the subject of age discrimination in health care, while Nursing Times' "Elderly Care Counts" campaign has produced a Health Care Bill of Rights for the Older Person. This report is the first part of a full review of research on age discrimination in health care, and outlines some of the main concerns. "Healthcare rights for older people: the ageism issue" is a later version of this item. (RH).
