AnnotationThe Employee Development and Assistance Programme (EDAP) was set up at the Ford Assembly Plant at Dagenham in the early 1990s, to encourage a return to learning for all employees. The programme covers all company employees, regardless of job or status, including semi-skilled or unskilled workers. This report examines factors affecting participation, and the reasons for the scheme's success. It highlights EDAP's importance as a model for policy-makers, employers, employees and trade unions, and education providers. (RH).
