AnnotationThis booklet - initiated and funded under the Department of Health (DoH) Community Care Development Programme - is intended to create an awareness and understanding of deafblindness, its impact on the individual, and a concise guide to providing support. Based on a project in Middlesbrough which provides training for residential and day care workers, it covers problems and needs, communication, environmental considerations, and mobility. It should therefore be read by all whose work brings them into contact with older people who have failing hearing or failing sight (or both). (RH).
