AnnotationThe first edition of this Framework Contract was published by the Continuing Care Conference (CCC) in 1995, and was drawn up by CCC's Care Standards Committee, chaired by Chai Patel. Work on this new edition, which includes a number of amendments, was led by Julie Hopkins of Hannover Re UK. It provides a framework of a contract intended for use between individual residents and a residential or nursing home. It sets out the legal context, and covers the points for inclusion: assessment and care plan; trial period; fees; facilities; visiting; medical arrangements; staffing; insurance; privacy and confidentiality; personal monies; regular reviews; complaints procedure; temporary absence; and procedure for ending the agreement. It also includes a glossary of terms used. (RH).
