Better sex treating physical disability to improve sexual function | Author(s) | Nigel Higson |
Journal title | Geriatric Medicine, vol 27, no 10, October 1997 |
Pages | pp 43-44, 46 |
Keywords | Sexual activity ; General practitioners. |
Annotation | Advancing years need not affect sexual pleasure. In the first of a series of articles, the author explains how general practitioners can manage physical problems (e.g. arthritis, Parkinson's disease, and strokes) to improve their patients' sexual satisfaction. GPs are ideally placed to counsel patients about difficulties with sexual functioning caused by physical disability, and may be able to make referrals for psychosexual counselling. (RH). |
