AnnotationThis research report is the outcome of a briefing meeting held in Swindon to bring local employment and training professionals up to date with current UK and European trends in the recruitment, employment and training of older workers. It reports on a survey of corporate and small to medium size employers in the Swindon area, which sought responses to a range of open questions concerning training, development, recruitment and future role of older workers, and whether there was support for an older workers' resource centre. The research suggests that older workers in the workforce are generally valued and seen as an important resource. These findings support evidence at a national level that attitudes are changing towards the employment of older workers. (RH).
