AnnotationSocial networks, support networks, and care networks are terms which appear to be used interchangeably with social support, social integration and/or social networks. Increasingly, measures of social network or social support are variables of interest in social policy and practice. This review discusses a variety of measurement methodologies; summarises our understanding of various network structures, support and help; explores the nature of network typologies which have been developed; and summarises the findings relating to variation and change in networks.
