Annotation | This is an abridged version of a paper first published in `Ageing and Society', vol 10, 1990, pp 151-173. It is based on a large research project carried out in the Greater Manchester area, which includes qualitative and quantitative data on kin obligations and support, as regards children and their ageing parents. Concern is with issues about norms and morality in family life, and how far these constitute explanations of what people do, or do not do, for their relatives. |
