Annotation | Interest in measuring effectiveness of health care services has increased recently, mainly in response to rising costs of care and the resulting need for reforms to control these costs. Valid, reliable quality indicators (QIs) are required, which can be used to measure a broad range of care services - particularly for making a case for health care provision for older people. This article briefly reviews some relevant examples of quality assessments. (RH). |
