Annotation | Despite their growing numbers in many parts of the world, older people's political influence has been rather small. Some associations, organisations and political parties have been known to restrict older people's rights. The author contends that it is the right of government to create the conditions and chances which enable older people to participate in whatever happens in their society. He describes ways in which his country, Malta, has placed older people's care and well-being at the forefront. (RH). |
