Annotation | This Act makes provisions for the improved control of pollution arising from industrial and other processes; re-enacts the provisions of the Control of Pollution Act; restates the law defining statutory nuisances; amends the law relating to litter and the Radioactive Substances Act; makes provisions for the control of genetically modified organisms; abolishes the Nature Conservancy Council and makes provisions for the creation of councils to replace it; makes further provisions for the control of the import, export, use, supply or storage of prescribed substances and articles; and confers powers to obtain information about potentially hazardous substances. This Act was reprinted with corrections in 1998. The corrections were issued in December 1990 and February 1991. |
