AnnotationThis Act makes provisions with respect to dangerous or otherwise harmful drugs. It concerns controlled drugs and their classification, restrictions relating to classified drugs, miscellaneous offences, the powers of the Secretary of State (i.e. the Home Secretary) for preventing misuse of controlled drugs, and law enforcement and punishment of offences. The Act also established the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs.
